The Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer are new releases from Jeep in 2022. They are close cousins with some similar features and some distinct differences. The Grand Wagoneer is a refreshed take on a classic SUV from Jeep, which was also called the Grand Wagoneer, dating back to the 1980s. Although it brings a fresh wave of new technology, a refreshed exterior appearance, and an updated interior to the market this year, the Grand Wagoneer still has elements of the fan-favorite SUV that Jeep retired over two decades ago. The Wagoneer is an all-new release from Jeep with some of the same exterior features as the Grand Wagoneer but some distinctive interior and mechanical differences.
The 2022 Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer both have impressive performance capabilities with some differences in overall power capacity and performance. The Grand Wagoneer uses a 6.4L engine with a maximum power range of up to 471 HP. The Grand Wagoneer is also capable of 455 LB-FT in torque. It comes with an automatic smooth-shifting transmission, and it has a standard four-wheel drive for optimal traction and durability as you’re driving off the beaten path. The Wagoneer has a 5.7L V8 engine that also comes with a mild 48-volt hybrid system. The hybrid system provides the Jeep with an impressive fuel economy and no shortage of power with up to 10,000 pounds in towing power. The Wagoneer’s engine is capable of nearly 400 HP and about 405 LB-FT in torque.
The Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer have distinctive exterior designs that, as Jeep aptly describes, are inspired by iconic American landscapes with rolling contours and sweeping curves. Both Jeep models are designed to drive in the elements, too, with useful features such as roof rails to help carry your weekend getaway supplies and LED headlights to provide extra safety and visibility in low-light settings. You can get wheels up to 22 inches with the Grand Wagoneer and the Wagoneer, and both models have elegant chrome touches for an upscale finish.
The Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer both have split-folding seats and a range of seating materials with leather upholstery on the higher-end trims. The Grand Wagoneer has over 40 inches of screen space with a touchscreen interface that regulates the car’s cabin temperature and seat heat settings, along with a separate user-friendly touchscreen. The Wagoneer gets a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and Android Auto.
